So, ultra strange, I just accepted a HIT that I don't qualify for. How is that possible? Is that possible? Has it always been possible and I'm just stupid?

I suppose it's possible if the qualification is just in the description, or not even the description, but rather in a screener/otherwise within the survey / HIT itself. Requestors should know how to properly assign quals to prevent unqualified workers from accepting their jobs by default, but I have accepted my fair share of HITs that at first look, gave no indication that I was unqualified. But upon accepting the job, I realized one way or another I wasn't qualified.

If you're talking about being able to accept a HIT that has a qual requirement that you don't meet, then I'm not so sure how that happened.

I had a super good turk week last week,


So I'm going to treat myself to a cut and color I desperately need for my hair this week.

I'm talking about an actual qualification that I don't have. Not a description. If it were a description, it wouldn't be strange at all. I definitely wouldn't be unnerved by accepting a HIT that I screen out of, since that's happened roughly 100k times. What I'm talking about shouldn't actually be possible.

Morning everyone, I reckon we are finally back to normal on Mturk now for the most part.

Question for anyone using PC. I'm on OSX using the newest version of Chrome. Ever since I began using PC, when it caught a HIT I would get a little notification that would slide onto the screen, telling me the HIT info, and then it would go away. It was a nice tool, as when I had PC muted, it would visibly show me that I had a new HIT in the queue. I've noticed over this month sometime, I lost that ability. I cannot seem to find PC or mturk blocked in my notification settings in chrome, so I'm not sure where to go to re-configure this. I never got a prompt asking me to allow or block notifications after updating PC, etc.
