My parents told me the same thing except it was because my dog liked to sun herself close to the road and she got run over by a car. They told me she had ran away, I have severe trust issues now.
We moved out in the country when I was a little older. 2nd dog was a lab. I walked her around the perimeter of our property everyday so she wouldn't go out on the road. She knew to stay in the yard. I came home from school one day, my little brother was crying. My dad had this sad look on his face... my jackass brother took her out onto the road (without a leash) and she got hit. We should have got rid of my brother, I'm telling ya.

They're not, but that wasn't my fault or the dogs fault. :)
they are most definitely the meanest dogs.

my daughter's mother ran an animal rescue, which mostly ended up dealing with dogs and cats.

pitbulls are easily the nicest dogs, followed by unidentified mutts who were mostly hounds.
poodles were the worst. chihuahuas were ok, but the smaller they were, the bigger their attitude.
border collies are a tough contender for first, but end up hitting second with the mutts

I've only interacted with about 10,000 dogs and 30,000 cats, so I realize that I might be wrong...
but probably not

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Further proving my theory that all turkers have dark backstories.

I mean, I used to kill people and attempt to melt them down for copper to sell to the local metal buyers
but, as you can see, it was all for a good cause - the smile on my face :)

disclaimer: probably fake

That doesn't sound like a great business model.

I don't have very many memories of my grandfather. I didn't know him very well. But what I do remember of him was the smell of cherry pipe tobacco... and a tiny toy poodle named boomer who would run at him full speed from anywhere at all and he would put his hand down for that little dog to launch itself up onto his arm and climb up onto his shoulder to ride around.
What a wonderful memory to have, though! The way you told it, I could see the little trick they did together in my mind, which made it even better.

I have learned in my life that there is no such thing as a bad dog; there are only bad owners who make mean dogs of good pups. Dogs are the purest form of love, and I don't believe for a second that any one of them is born mean.
My working theory is we're all different levels of screwed up. :)
Pretty solid theory, to be honest.

Edit: My "a" key fell off earlier, so they keep escaping from words and stuff.

You may know a thing or two about dogs... but you certainly don't know how to conduct yourself among actual people.

But hey, keep up the good work!
