He was a revolutionary, albeit somewhat reticent. This author, Kearns Goodwin, has written a few presidential biographies. First heard her interviewed when President Obama took office. Obama referred to THIS book, and Lincoln specifically, re: designing his cabinet as a "Team of Rivals" to strengthen the U.S., with diversity. Didn't finish it (Almanac size book), but good writing -
