I will say, I have yet to have a savings account in my adult life. And I work a regular 40 hour a week job and this. And yes I have a horse but I work off all of his food/monthly stuff and trim his feet myself and haven't bought tack in 5 years. Only vet bills for him.

I plan on having a savings account in the near future, but whenever I have those plans something crazy happens like an animal, myself or my car gets sick. So that's fun.

We're all adults. We KNOW we need money. We KNOW we need to set some aside. Almost everyone here is here and stressed about money for various circumstances.

Doesn't mean we need to be schooled like a bunch of children because we have shitty pocketbooks right now.

Everyone should strive to maintain at least two months of living expenses worth of savings so you don't have to stress as much about Amazon fuckery (or other unforeseen events.)
While I agree, it is so fucking difficult to get back ahead when you get behind due to unfortunate circumstances.

where there's a will, there's a way. my mom stopped paying for riding lessons when i was 16. I couldn't afford them. But I found someone to let me work them off. My entire horse-owning exisitence has been because people know I will my ass off for what I want in life.

only two months? What if the unforseen events last 3 months? It should be 6 months of savings. But wait, what if the event lasts 7 months? Should I have a years worth of savings just incase? But wait what if its more than a year?

I find that its best to have 90 years worth of expenses in the bank, just in case life sucks overall. Anyone who doesn't just isn't responsible.

Yeah, not arguing that. Just saying it's totally worth striving for for the peace of mind.

If someone wants to get offended that's on them.
Afternoon all,
This brought back memories for me of how tough it is. I know you are correct but I remember after my husband died and myself, 3 kids and my grand baby had to move into a one bedroom apartment and could barely make ends meet. 2 months was overwhelming to me at that time, even 2 days would have caused tears. We started with just one day. An extra jar of peanut butter, a roll of toilet paper, a box of crackers, whatever small things we could spare a few dollars for. Every month, I would buy just a few extra items and rotate them out to build my pantry. Three years later, we now have a small savings, a decent place to live in a good school district for the grand and emergency food and toiletries.

Start small, that extra can of tuna or whatever it is a month will add up over time. For me, it was much easier to make little baby steps. Hope everyone can have a productive day and be blessed with what they need even if they don't get what they want.

Rhys is posting that 6.00 HIT again. Nice long timer. Easy and not as long as they say. Be careful to take proper time, 'cause they'll make you do a portion again if you're inattentive and not consistent. I had no problem with this one. Simple and paid now. All bubbles and goes along nicely.
