That's so awesome!! Fostering is best of all worlds. You get an awesome buddy whose food and vet care is paid for, they get a chill home life, it frees up a space in the shelter for another pup. WIN WIN WIN :celebrate2:
I keep telling my mom who lost a dog last week (but still has one younger one) that she should try fostering for a local organization for a little while, and maybe then she will stumble upon her next dog in the process :)

These are all good ideas. I hadn't thought about fostering.

Years ago I had a greyhound that was just the sweetest, most chill animal on the face of earth. We adopted Annie from a race track in Georgia that closed. She had no food drive (unlike a dox), but show that dog a ball and it would instantly flip it's shit.

There are tons of organizations that foster/adopt greyhounds! They such good couch potatoes! I'm sure you'll sort what is best for you guys, but always options and tons of sources and people willing to help :)

World's Fastest Couch Potatoes

Not sure where you are but Florida just banned greyhound racing so there'll be a whole bunch of retired and lazy sighthounds needing homes soon.

Worst C-SATS surgeon, ever. This is painful to watch for 10 minutes.
Sounds like the one I did last night, it was like one of two that I've ever ticked fail for.

Actually I'm on the other end of the East Coast (Maine). Annie came to us when I was living in MA. As I remember, there is actually a good network of people/organizations who do the initial rescues and then the dogs get distributed to different no-kill shelters and rescue programs throughout the country. My GF at the time was the master at working with all those organizations.

Now look what you've done - you've got me looking at cute dog photos. Look at these hams! Curses!

It almost looked like the tools were shorting out, but I doubt they were. Just VERY clunky movements, constantly running into other tools, etc.

I'm not sure. Emotional support fish?? I don't foresee another dog in our future. Zoe was a handful before she started to slide, and she's 11. She tripped him up a few times because she was always running around his feet looking for food to drop. I can't imagine a puppy... I may need to start laying the ground work for this eventuality.
How about an older dog that needs a home? Something mellow like maybe a bulldog?

i think y'all are gonna need a retied greyhound! hehe. Yeah i was gonna say, they do a ton of transport. The rescue I got rev from does the entire southeast and the rescue will have volunteers that transport. I actually drove 3 hours to get Rev (and again, we still go visit her foster. It helps she lives in the mountains and it's gorgeous there!)

It's 5°F today - I could use a road trip to FL right about now...
