Unsolicited hair advice for curlies: do not brush your hair unless it's right before the shower. Put hair in a t-shirt to dry.
This has made me go from Chaka Khan to... well less Chaka Khan lmao
i stopped brushing my hair unless i'm putting it in a pony tail.

weirdly, my best hair is if I shower right before bed and sleep on wet hair

in a t-shirt? I wrap mine in a towel to dry, never heard of using a shirt

I go to bed with my hair wet-ish 95% of the time and it looks like shit when I get up. but it's hard to take a shower when kiddo's awake. i only got to take one this morning because my sister watched him lol

No clever advice here, just sympathy for my fellow curlies. My hair has been permanently pissed off ever since I moved to Seattle, and I no longer have the money to keep trying different products in vain efforts to calm it down - I eventually just bought bobby pins and put it up every day like some old-timey '40s lady. I've forgotten what it used to be like to not have frizzy hair.

Fellow curly. I never brush my hair. I don't ever use a towel on it either. Gel on it straight after a shower, wrap it in a tshirt for about 10 mins, then let it air dry and get the stiffness of the gel out when dry. my hair is like 25x curlier than I even knew.

if I went to bed with wet hair I'd wake up looking like a Jim Henson nightmare.

Also, other unsolicited curly advice: check out the curly girl method. I don't use the method to a T but have learned some great technique for curls!

Maybe this is what I need to try, I've never even heard of doing this. Where do you get citric acid though?
(I hear you about annoying, I've been calling mine "the shrubbery" for mumble years now)

I order it off Amazon, but you can get citric acid in any grocery that carries canning stuff (cheaper online though!)

It burns if you have any kind of scalp issues. Also most people who do the "noo-poo" thing use apple cider vinegar mixed with water, but I didn't like that so I do the citric acid thing and it works for me.
