I'm so bad at setting up HIT Catcher or Panda Crazy to grab hits. I never know what to add and always end up doing something silly like auto-accepting a BILLION of some stupid thing that I won't have enough time to complete.

So, quick questions, entirely unrelated:

1. Is returning a lot of HITs bad?
2. Is running out of time on a HIT I've accepted bad?

Bad as in, will have a negative impact on me or my account or ability to get HITs.

Not really no. Requesters can restrict you from doing HITs based on return or expire rates but it is so rare that it is inconsequential.

That definitely depends where you live. As a rider it beats the holy hell out of taxi's. As a driver, like I said, Mturk can be better sometimes. And I work in a big city.

I don't know if this strategy will help,but I do Uber on Fridays and Saturdays only now because Friday everybody usually gets paid and Saturday people want to go out to the clubs,movies and eat. Saves wear and tear on the car.
I also deliver pizza on Sunday only during the football season.
Also Uber riders are terrible tippers compared to pizza customers. No comparision as I can make over a $100-$150 in tips delivering pizza on a football Sunday to maybe $5 from Uber riders.

I use Lyft regularly and I'm usually just quiet or I jabber at them a lot so they don't have to think. I have a good rider rating but that's probably because I always tip, not because I'm so charming.

After 58 hours & 25 minutes of work in the last 5 days, I come home, pass out for 8 hours and my 1st thoughts on waking are that I should hop on here and do some hits because I don't have work tonight.
