I just caught a neighbor attempting to put red pepper powder out for the feral cat colony that are TNR'd, had their shots and she went onto their property where the cats live as in trespassing. I ran her off.
that's great, I mean that you're protecting them. I don't understand why people are so mean sometimes.

What is WRONG with people?!
I wish I knew. These cats have been here for years and years. They were here when I moved in about 11 years ago. The woman who cared for them died and they showed up on my steps. The family told me I could keep houses for then in the back yard and feed them back there. I neutered and spayed them, spent a lot of money on then over most of the years I've been here and now have to put up with this. I told her to take her pepper powder and put it in her own yard if she wanted to keep the cats away. And I told her I would call the property owners as she accused me of not having permission to be on the property. She'll probably put antifreeze out for them next.

There was a woman in my mom's neighborhood that fed all the feral cats. She had feed troughs in her garage and left the bottom of the garage door open for the cats to come in and out. Everyone in the neighborhood complained and threw a fit. Then she died and all the cats left. The rat problem became so bad that the city had to step in and help take care of it.
That's why this city doesn't do anything about the ferals. I could see if they weren't TNR'd and they stay in their own area. The city and everyone else will charge 50$ at the least to cart the cats away. This woman is just mean. And when I see someone with red pepper to hurt an animal well isn't that a sign of a severe mental illness? I didn't mince words. I told her to get off the property and chased her away and she just argued with me.

Cayenne pepper does work to deter cats from entering certain areas, but they can get it in their eyes and noses, making them super uncomfortable.

If this lady wants to keep cats out of her areas, a more humane solution is orange and lemon peels scattered about. For some reason, cats don't like the citrus smell. My neighbors and I all have cats we "rescued" who just showed up on our properties. We put out the peelings when other cats try and move into the 'hood and take over. Totally works. They move along. (I'm sure our territorial kitties help with this, too!)

Thank you, yes I know about the orange peels and have used them myself so they would stay in their own yard. I cleaned their houses this afternoon and found moth balls in the outside protection boxes for them. It was finally cool enough to do that today so I took advantage of it. Apparently moth balls deter cats too but that is really mean to put it in the cat spaces on their property. It's not just mean it's sick. She can put whatever she wants on her property. That's her business. She doesn't own, she rents. But she is trespassing when she comes onto their property to hurt the animals. There has to be something wrong with her and I really am afraid she'll try antifreeze next. But if I go out and find dead cats, I'll put them on her front steps.

Daryl Bem must be sending out mass emails about the link because I emailed him about no code at the end and got this response:

Thank you for alerting me to the broken link. I will try to fix it.
Daryl J. Bem
And the email also included a link to his personal website which has a link to the survey on it. But I've already got that.

That is really sick. Are there no trespassing signs up? If not, put some up. Then if she's caught there she can be reported.

People are just mean! TNR cats really help the environment! I know we have no rat problems at all thanks to all the neighborhood kitties. (And my dog, who actually catches more rats than my cats ever have, but I haven't seen a caught rat in over a year, so I think there are none about.)
