Acorns is a savings portfolio program that has been around for quite some time. You have the ability to set up reoccuring transfers, round up investments or simply one time transfers at your own will.

The minimum to get started on Acorns is a one time deposit of $5. This sets you up for a $5 sign up bonus. They offer a standard $5 referral bonus rate, as well as different assorted monthly promotions which range from planting a tree for each referral to this months promotion of an additional $500 for setting up 10 new members.

I have Acorns and see it more as an IRA than a source of short-term revenue. Definitely would suggest it for people who don't have a 401K or other retirement fund.

I also have Robinhood, an app which allows you to buy stocks without fees. Actually I signed up for it the same day as Acorns, and I've earned a lot more through Robinhood (although I haven't taken any profit out yet). It certainly helps that the stock market is hot right now, that could end anytime.
