Whenver I see this it's caused by some kind of page request limit. For me, it's caused when I have HIT Forker, Panda Crazy, and sync my HIT Tracker on MTS. Just make sure you don't have multiple services hitting the site at the same time. When I get hit with this timeout, I just turn off Hit Forker and Panda Crazy and come back to it in a few minutes.

I don't even use mturk for surveys anymore.. only rare batches that show up. I'm at $4 on mturk and it's been 6 hours.
So sad that 4-5 years ago, it was so easy to hit $100 daily.. as time passed that dropped down to $50 a day... then $30-50 a day, and now it's hard to even make $10.

This is my experience as well.

On Reddit someone said Amazon has made it difficult for requestors to set up accounts. Also, Prolific vets their participants much better than Amazon does so requestors don't have to deal with so many bots or those they would otherwise screen out.

because mturk req are jumping ship for prolific? for instance in the last week, did google and maze studies on prolific that i used to see on mturk.
