there's some kinda thing on your phone where it listens to what you're watching and they like talk to each other??? BigT told me about it the other day and I didn't really pay attention b/c the world is chaos anyhow and why bother getting upset about all the appliances plotting against us, right?

To be fair, you're paying 99 cents for the Dot and $8 (up front) for a month of their service. Either way you end up paying about $9 total. Still a great deal for a smart speaker.
