Thank you for participating in this experiment. The goal of this study was to understand cross-cultural differences in strategy and decision making in a time constrained task. Within the experiment you were asked to interact with several other individuals. We told you that you were interacting with other workers on Amazon Mechanical Turk, when in reality you were interacting with computer controlled agents (simulations of individual behavior).

The nature of our experiment required us to use computer controlled agents as interaction partners in order for each subject to have similar experiences. This allows us to better understand the decisions that were made.


Reminds me of the time I worked in a rehab center, back in the 70s. Workers were commenting that one resident made the statement that the center was trying to "program" all of them.
