Be careful- Living in South Louisiana, I've had my own fair share of major hurricanes and they are not fun.

I'm just over the border from you in Texas and I always feel so bad for Louisiana. They will say it's coming here every time and within hours of landfall switch it to you guys... This world sucks. and the news sucks.

cat 5.........wow. If one came here as a cat 5 I'd run. The damage we suffered with a 3 (and it slowed down by the time it got to my town) - was unreal. There were hundreds of huge trees down all over. We couldn't survive a storm that big (too many big trees, they'd all be toppled).

i think the last storm we had, that was actually bad, was Wilma back in 06 or 07, we and lots of other places were without power for about a week but our place was generally alright, no damages, and it was only a cat 1 or 2. i'm guessing it won't be a cat 5 anymore by the time it reaches us, but i gotta talk with my mom to see what we're gonna do about it

Yeah, it sucks- We're I live is where the flooding just took place 6 weeks ago. We had almost 4 1/2 feet in our house ( we are living with the in-laws now while we re-build) We just passed our moisture test so this weekend the insulation and sheet rock are going up.

We were on vacation in Myrtle Beach in 2008 I think that was the year when a hurricane hit, safe to say we headed back to Kentucky real QUICK!!!!!!
