Still trying to learn what's a good turkopticon score and what's not.. I've been doing pretty much anything with a 4.5-5 fair rating. getting that first 100 approved is going to be a pain
id say as low as 3.75 and up. see what people say too

reviews like "I know for sure I did it right because I'm a fucking piece of shit who is always right and im entitled to money for missing an attention check and submitting shitty data" let you know that the person is a fucking piece of shit who missed an attention check and deserved to be rejected anyway

I set HIT Finder to 3.5 and haven't had a rejection yet. As long as the "Fair" score is on the high end, and instructions were followed, it seems to always approve. Had 1 rejection early on when I first started though due to not reading instructions carefully.

For your first 1000, don't focus on overall TO score, IMO. Go for easy numbers, and things that don't reject. I'm not saying throw away your time on stuff that pays horribly, but until you get past 1000, focusing on numbers over pay rate can help you get over that hump quicker.

As for TO/TO2/TV in general, I take it all with a grain of salt. The reviews themselves can be much more telling that the rating numbers. And even then, the reviews aren't always based on the current HITs / work by the requester, and they may not be honest reviews in all cases. I take the TO rating and reviews into consideration, along with what I read here on the forum...but at the end of the day, I won't let the rating scare me away.

On the flip side, don't ignore the ratings, as they can tell you which requesters are worth avoiding due to TOS breaches, rejections, etc. Just don't take TO as a gold standard :)

Edit* Some of my best paying HITs have been no TO/ low TO. Not always the case of course, just saying.

Thanks for the advice everyone! As for focusing on the payout, I'm not too worried about that at the moment. More interested in getting my numbers up safely so those unavoidable rejections won't hurt too bad. I actually do economy lab experiments very similar to these at my university for a bit better pay. I have to say i'm surprised with how similar some of the tasks are but I guess a lot of the requests are from universities after all.
