i paid off 2 collections and the rest of my cc debt a couple months ago. i read online that paying off collections wouldn’t have a huge effect on my score, but it apparently did. so my score went from downright terrible to now middle of the pack

Okay, thank you. This is the first time it's happened to me that I recall. I only started in February (for real because I actually tried turking once years ago and was not getting it at all) so there's still a lot of things to come up I haven't had happen yet.
