This might be a stupid question, but should I be concerned about the herokuapp.com surveys? The one I caught is
CoCoSci Lab at Princeton , which I think is a safe requester. Is there ever a reason not to trust a hit link?

I think you are safe in this situation, but there is the potential for hit links to be unsafe from time to time.

N @NewAmturker Heroku is a company owned by Salesforce, and is safe.

Survey Monkey, Qualtrics, Inquisit, Lime, Heroku Apps, Survey Gizmo, Quicksurveys, SoundingBox, Userlytics are all legitimate companies.

Thank you, this is a helpful list. I thought people complain about Inquisit though. Is that based on the requesters and not Inquisit?

Legitimacy is not the same as ease-of-use.

Inquisit doesn't let you shift through windows easily, is usually long and repetitive, and sometimes is underpaid. It's not a format I prefer, but it's a legitimate company.

Inquisit is merely a tool companies use in combination with Mturk to get data. Mturk doesn't provide more than the basic surveys/quiz tools.

Usually, most studies that run on Inquisit have you stare at a + in the middle of the screen while they determine your implicit biases.

The tests run on it are usually a variant of https://implicit.harvard.edu/implicit/takeatest.html

Herokuapps allow for greater customization, but very often, non-developers set them up incorrectly.

Neither Heroku nor Inquisit are userfriendly, but they're not going to reveal your porn or steal your credit card numbers.
