Well, the local church food pantry sounded desperate in an email to me last night. Guess I'm volunteering starting Tuesday. Good thing it's within walking distance since I think we're still allowed to walk.

hmm ... can't buy handiwipes these days. So, going to try an experiment. I have white vinegar and the strong Viva paper towels. Am going to take an empty container and fill it with part water and part vinegar and the Viva towels. that ought to work.

Vinegar is not a strong disinfectant. Acetic acid is a milder acid. Alcohol(at least 70%, and make sure you're not using a weakened solution to start) or Clorox. My wipes are Clorox Clean up spray and paper towels. Works a treat and cleans your hands too. Keep a bottle of lotion for skin care...Seems to me a saw a recipe for vinegar disinfectant recently. Don't remember where/when.

I try not to overdue the Clorox because I did that once cleaning patio furniture in Houston with a slight forest fire behind me. Got a terrible throat infection. So, use Clorox sparingly now. Vinegar will do what I need it too.

Interesting aside for those who might need this: TheTurbanProject.com has free patterns--including how to make FACE MASKS. There is also a tutorial...If you are not old enough to know, hospital gear, including face masks were always made of cloth. They could be washed, or more likely, auto-claved to be sterile. Such things were not made of paper and plastic to be used once and thrown away. Cloth items, metal instruments, and even bandages and sponges were all wrapped in cloth, taped firmly as a package and sterilized in an autoclave. And for those living in a hole in the ground(which might be a good idea just now), an autoclave is/was a fancy pressure cooker with a door, like a cupboard. All hospitals had them.

Gm super turkers, went out to Publix late yesterday and good news is that it was packed to the brim with toilet paper, chicken and everything they stock as usual except hand santizers. It seems like Chicken is the new thing people are hoarding , couldn't find any at WM

I remember that av, welcome back
Oh yes, I've been around for awhile now ( 4 years) Back when mturk was truly in its hay-day and we could easily make $45-50 a day...sigh, does anyone else remember those hits when we would take a picture of our TV guide channels?
