I pretty much live in the heart of Mardi Gras and actually went to a major parade this past Sunday. It was a beautiful day and everyone we came across was in a party mood, lol. I've been a parade grinch for years but since we have a family member that lives on the parade route (meaning: food, a clean bathroom, and a parking space which are crucial) we decided to go for it so kiddo could have her first Mardi Gras experience. She had a BLAST and so did we!
-We danced in the street the majority of the day
-Some of us lost our voices from yelling and screaming (the good kind)
-Ate delicious king cake and was pretty much day drunk (something I never do, so it was crazy)
-Learned the first name of a nice police officer and he would hand us dropped throws on the other side of the barricade (hilarious)
-Didn't get hit in the head with anything
I'm glad we went and that everyone had a great time.
Now back to work
