Good tip, thank you! She's a bit of a drama queen to begin with, so practice will be needed. One of the kids stepped on her paw when she was a puppy and I still think she raises it at me every now and then as a reminder.

Oh my gosh, we call this move "pity paw" because something similar happened to my late cat (if you could have a soulmate pet, he would've been it ?). Less than a month after we adopted him a light wicker table fell on his paw (empty plant stand) and he raised the paw in the air when he saw us so we rush him to the vet and the vet took xrays and all was well. But, the pity paw continued for 10 years whenever he felt like he was being ignored, underfed, abused from underfeeding. He was 24 pounds, so obviously the pity paw worked it's magic on me. That little paw would hike into the air and he'd put his "woe is me" face on and I caved every time!
