Good morning - happy Wednesday .... Day 3 of my solo parenting week. Single parents are awesome and I don't know how y'all do it and keep sane

It's a juggling act that nobody is good at, in the beginning.
You're doing fine and, think about how much easier it will be when you get back to 2 parents.

I am learning that I'm overly critical of myself so I'm trying to tone it down

But I had plans of organizing and cleaning up. lol. I've been way too tired. Otherwise it's going ok! Parenting with 2 is a lot easier (assuming the second person actually helps, which mine does)

It's easier and harder (a bit of a trade-off). Your rules (vegetarian food, no tv, no plastic toys - you get to decide ).
When you don't expect any help......you kind of know it's all on you - that takes away most of the angst - yk?

Yeah - setting expectations mentally really helps for me. I feel stronger in some ways since everything is my own decision, but also... no pressure . My mother in law hasn't even been around this week because she has the plague (caught it from my kids... oops).

It was a hard adjustment for me this year since my husband has been going on so many conference trips (20? or over 20 this last year). We went on some of them together so I wasn't alone for all of those, but it was a lot more than in previous years.

I never liked guacamole. Then I tried avocado with just salt and it was pretty good. After eating them like that for 6 months, I acquired the taste for some guacamoles. Only good stuff though. Not Taco Bell, for instance.

Before all of this, I thought guacamole was disgusting.

I made guac for a family party because everyone likes it but me haha I made my son try it to see if it was good ( my first time making it) he loved it so I guess I did good job

If you want to give it the best shot, try it for breakfast, when your body is craving fat and salt(from overnight fasting) and you'll be more likely to like the taste, I think.
