I'm not sure if I'm posing this in the right place or not but I can't seem to find an answer about this. I've had my mturk account for over a year now and when I went to log onto it today it went straight to a page that said "Worker Registration" and it was asking for all of my information again. I also noticed that all of my hits/approval rating/earnings had all been reset to 0. Has anyone else had this problem and is there a way to fix it?

If you log in to the regular amazon.com website is all of your order history & stuff still there? The only time I've heard of something like this happening a user had their Amazon/mTurk account hacked & the e-mail swapped to a throwaway account.

These are from a different site so the links wont work right but it should give you a basic idea of what might have happened.

I think I just had my identity stolen or something. I got an email from Amazon saying that the email with my account was changed to a very similar one. My amazon account was reset to a basic account and my Mturk account was just wiped. Time to call amazon.
I called Amazon. They confirmed that my email was changed an hour ago. My orders, Prime membership and all of my Mturk HIT numbers and the money in my payments account were all moved to the new email. The fraud team is currently investigating what happened and will be getting back to me in the next day. I'm currently changing all of my passwords right now and monitoring my credit cards.

My email account is now being spammed with stuff from various websites I've never heard of. I got a message from someone on Reddit claiming to have done it.

I think I'm going to be sick.
Yep. They made an email account very similar to mine and got my amazon account completely switched over to their new email. My Amazon orders, prime membership, and my entire Mturk account was wiped. I've been in contact with Amazon about it.

If I'm going to file a police report later today, what would this be considered? I want to do a bit of research before I go.
Eventually he got everything straightened out IIRC, but you should definitely start looking to make sure if this does/does not apply to your situation. Idk if anything similar has happened here but figured since its kind of an urgent situation its worth dropping a lead for.

Did you have any warnings that your account registration isn't 'completed'? I have had those periodically since the 'switch over' - I'll try to accept my first HIT of the day and it will have a button that says my registration isn't yet completed (I've had my account for a few years, now). Then when I click on the button to check my registration, it just goes to the HITs. So, I accept the HIT........

I wonder if this is in store for me?

I just went ahead and checked that and everything seems like it's still good on my regular amazon account. I called amazon and the rep that answered said that he wasn't able to answer my questions because it required one of their special representatives. I'm still on the phone with him now and he's telling me that it's saying my email wasn't verified which makes no sense because I've been using mturk and amazon for the past year with that email.

It has done the whole "worker registration" thing to me before and set everything to 0 but then I'll check back an hour or so later and everything would have gone back to normal. This time it's just keeping everything reset at 0.

I finally got it fixed! Somehow reactivating my email and changing the password on amazon set everything straight again. Hopefully you don't end up running into this same issue in the future. :)
