This is a thread to share your favorite Instant Pot or slow cooker recipes, post pictures of your creations, talk about things you've made, and also share the story of how you first fell in love with the Instant Pot.

Feel free to post any interesting recipes you might have come across, or ask about how to cook certain things in the Instant Pot. We're all part of the same cult here, so please be respectful of other members. Enjoy!

I've made and liked (and vegetarian-ized, if necessary):

I also recently made applesauce just by chopping up some apples I had, adding some water and cinnamon, and cooking it on manual for 8 minutes or so and then letting it do the slow steam release.

I think rice porridge is what I make most often in the IP (except for oatmeal, grits, black bean soup, and all the other things I make the most often). I like to eat it for breakfast with sesame oil, a big pile of kimchi, and green onions. And for some reason cornbread. I don't know - cornbread is awesome with rice porridge.

When I live on my own I might get an instant pot.

Right now my roommates would cause a mutiny if I bring something else into the kitchen. I'll just drool at these recipes.

I'm bumping this thread cuz I got a crockpot last week and finally put it to use yesterday. I hadn't done groceries yet so I just made my usual simple chicken thigh and potatoes dinner to try it out and I was in love immediately. Like holy shit. It tastes so much better. I never want to use anything else again.

I love my crockpots :). I'd put everything in, wake my daughter up for school, and head out for the day. When we returned (exhausted) everything was ready. For the past few years, my daughter has been in the kitchen a lot cooking - and that's good and bad (her menu choice isn't the healthiest!!)

It's summer so I'm eating mostly salads and stuff like that - so it hasn't gotten much use. But in the Fall I want to drag it out again. Pumpkin bread in there is also great. Oh, and polenta (no stirring!!)

I've never really abided by seasonal eating or even know which fruits and veggies belong to which season besides widely known ones like Pumpkin, since down here in Miami there isn't really seasons :p That and we've always had a very simplistic menu of sticking to the same things all year, but I want to try more things and this should make it easier

Well, now, I was in Tally for more than a decade :)
(though for FL we did get some freezing!)
The great thing down there was it didn't heat up the house like the oven. So simple

The worst thing about the slow cooker is the amazing smell, lol. I was trying to nap yesterday afternoon while it was making dinner and I couldn't cause the smell was making me desperate

Don't be! Take it for a spin! I use mine to cook everything from my kids mac & cheese to steel cut oatmeal to beef stew - it's the no-babysitting pot :)

I made my hard boiled eggs in it yesterday. They truly peeled beautifully. So happy. Sondi @Sondi
