When you have a Ph.D. in chemical engineering but list Excel and Microsoft Office in your top skills...

o_O
What are you doing for the ones that have no profile? Toss em?

probably the most popular item at the shop I worked at

even if you subtract the 70% that were most likely drug dealers
They always show criminals using them in TV police dramas. None of my friends are drug dealers. :pandashake:

and damned near any nokia phone was indestructible. modern technology just makes things infinitely more breakable.
They're probably worse since Microsoft bought Nokia.

many customers were either older folks who didn't want a smartphone or people who broke an old phone but were due an upgrade, so they were just getting a stopgap

the other 70% were drug dealers

As a designer, I'm not fine with people designing things to break on purpose. That's pretty well the definition of bad design. I'm also not okay with costing the end user more money in the long run.
Unfortunately, most things are made flimsily now. My old printer was about 15 years old, and I held on to it because it had huge cartridges, which are still readily available. I used to repair it myself, as it was as much mechanical as electronic. So it wasn't good at printing photos, but I'm not big on taking photos.

2 months ago it finally died and I bought a new Brother, with loads of buttons and messages on the front. I know exactly which parts are going to break off first, because it takes an elephant to pull out the paper tray. And if anything electronic goes wrong, there's no way to fix it.

This will shock you. I also know some younger folks with flip-phones (The business lingo is "feature-phone." They don't all flip.)

How did we get on this topic?

How interesting! What sorts of products do you design?

Speaking of HF, its being a royal pain in the ass. It seems like bootstrap is forcing me to choose between having the dropdown exports or the little plus sign on the Logged HITs that expands to show all of the other HIT information =/
