Yes, that is what I did. Took 3 hours and seems to occur with the microsoft updates getting interrupted when you do them.

what do you mean MS updates getting interrupted? So far it's restore ok. I just hope this works.

They mean, when you attempted to do MS updates, something interrupted it and that's what screwed it up. Can't confirm but i think i was doing updates when mine messed up too. Was awhile ago so i forget. If you're already restoring, then you're good to go. Hopefully you had nothing important to save.

I had a lot of transcriptions in there that I wanted to keep but most have been paid I think. It won't loose my email as that is stored on the provider's server so I guess from now on I'll email every transcript I do to myself. I don't want to lose those if there are questions. I haven't done this for a while though I have factory restored before, but I have to create a whole new profile on windows when it's finished right? I hope amazon remembers my password. I think it does. I've restored so many times over the years and as I remember it gets kind of easier as things are now stored on some giant thing in the sky somewhere. This laptop restores itself when it has problems. it's old for a computer but works. It's a 7 too but has problems and sometimes it just insists on a factory restore before it starts and works for me.

Yeah you'll have to create a new login and what not. I'm going to assume you're using chrome browser? If so then all passwords will be remembered when you login to your chrome browser. Hopefully the rest goes well

No not chrome. Though I have used chrome for mturk. I have to use FF because chrome and that computer don't get along. Never did. It's doing start up now.

No not chrome. Though I have used chrome for mturk. I have to use FF because chrome and that computer don't get along. Never did. It's doing start up now.
