@LightningLord Though the G word is commonly used for the Travellers in the UK, it is indeed an ethnic slur against the Romani people, as well as Travellers from other cultures. I think the point MomofMaximus is making is that maybe it doesn't belong here in a forum, with so many members of such diverse backgrounds.

For the record, I'm not "getting in the middle" or anything. I just wanted to provide some context for you to consider, in regards to using that term, even in a gif.

Yes, I understand that. I don't watch the show. I just don't personally like seeing things like that repeated into the forum. I find offense to how they used the word.

Romani don't care about being called Gypsies. My father is from Croatia and my mother was born in Finland...i was born in Norway. Both of them come from a very very long line of Romani. Its not a derogatory term. Its like calling people that work at carnivals...carnies. It just is what it is. Romani are travelers....its what we do.

I'm Romani, and I do care when there is a gif that says "Gypsy s.o.b.". It was used to be derogatory in that instance. If it's not used as a derogatory term, then I don't find offense. I was just pointing it out to say hey, watch that. Ok?
