Although some of these D. Stone GoT and Silicon Valley topics are probably close to impossible to find an article about...

The guy that runs the place I was with has worked with them for 30 years and is a pro at handling them. Still, he got cocky once and ended up with talons in his arm from one. It did all sorts of damage requiring major surgery and months of physical therapy. They can exert about 500 pounds of pressure per square inch with their feet. They're dangerous which is why (even if we may pet their heads in private or whatever) we never want to give the impression that they're sweet and cuddly. People get ideas about keeping them as pets and such.
oh wow. that's crazy. and you're right. it's probably much better to keep that kind of thing out of the public eye. i always forget about how ridiculous people are until someone makes the headlines for getting mauled by even a relatively non-threatening animal.

This is only my third study for Prolific. Maybe I just screwed up somehow.

Eventually the study submitted. I think. And didn't see a completion code. Just wrote the researcher and prolific. I'll see, I guess. Thanks for the rapid response, bxpretzel @bxpretzel

prolific is weird about submitting. i usually open the redirect link in a new tab so that i am still on the survey page if necessary. usually the very last bit after an equal sign (=) in the redirect link is the completion code that you can enter in the little box on the survey page. one issue i don't like about prolific is that one time i had 13 minutes remaining on a survey but when i submitted it, prolific gave me an error and said i had timed out. when i emailed/messaged the researcher, they said they had no record of my submission. prolific said there was nothing they could do. i didn't really like this, but i still do prolific because they pay well (better than mturk) and the exchange rate to $ makes it even sweeter. surveys are generally shorter as well.
