OK guys after everyone's input (and thanks) here is the email....

Now we are investigating a possibility to find out what some of your friends
really think. We wish to invite at least some of them to a study similar to
yours, but much shorter. In it, we would only ask for their own opinions about
various issues.

The only way we could contact them is through you. Therefore, we were wondering
if you could invite some of them to sign in to Mechanical Turk and ask them to
send you their Mechanical Turk Worker IDs. For each of your contacts who
completes the study, we will reward you too with $1.

You could invite your friends by email or personally and say something like:

“I have recently completed an interesting study and would like to invite you to
complete it too. The questionnaire is about your opinions on different social
and political issues and will not take more than 5 minutes. Your anonymity will
be completely preserved. You will get $1 for your participation.

5 minutes of my time are worth more than a penny. I don't trust they will pay more in the future

Having each one of my friends spend all that time and effort to sign up with Mturk for a $1 isnt gonna work. They have to sign up, wait to be approved (48 hours), sign up with amazon payments, submit ID verification and wait for that to be approved, attach a bank account.... No, no one is going to do this.

Aw, see when I read this I didn't think about it meaning non-turk friends. I took it to mean share it to all your turking buddies. I probably wouldn't bother trying to get someone to actually sign up for turking just to do it either but if he wanted turking friends I'd tell y'all about it.

Yeah, my turking friends would prolly do this, but wouldn't they want to be the ones recieving the $1 per friend bit?

Maybe they will later. Sounds like a perfect pyramid scheme.

Welp, mommy fail today. The kid got hives two weeks ago after having milk so we were advised to cut out dairy until her doc sees her. That totally slipped my mind this morning while making breakfast for everyone. Poor thing barfed three times in a span of 15min about a half hr after eating. Hope everyone else is having a better afternoon.
Ugh!...My son became allergic to milk shortly after birth...had a couple of anaphylactic episodes. Not fun. Turns out he's also allergic to eggs & peanuts. He's now 16 and hasn't outgrown them. I hope your daughter's allergy isn't too severe.

How was the requester going to pay the new friends anyway?
