I'm not sure there's been a single product in the history of 5s that I wanted to buy.
I look back fondly on the electric guitar signed by Al Pacino I saw in 5s.

In fact, I'd like it if they regularly got members of The Actors Studio to sign seemingly unrelated items. I can imagine it now - "Next up, a broom signed by Paul Newman."

Do you think telling someone they are naive is an insult? I thought it was much nicer than saying what I was really thinking which 'you are as dumb as dirt' or 'stupid'. I thought it was not pejorative at all . . .

It may be nicer than those alternatives, but it's still a little demeaning, I'd say?

It probably depends on the situation and/or context. It could go either way.

Well, I can't really tell you what I'd say without knowing the details.
Lesson learned - Next time I'll simply say flat out 'You are dumb as dirt', ' A complete f. . . ing idiot', etc. No points granted for being civil.

The civil way to do it would be to point out their lack of knowledge without making them feel at all attacked. Maybe asking them to clarify their point, explain their thinking, act like you are working to find a common viewpoint.

This is way too much effort so personally I would go with "What the hell are you talking about?"

OK. What WOULD you say. Something had to be said!
It's not what you say, but how you said it, and the relationship you have with the person you said it with.
