RE: Requester Yuta Nakashima - (also Noa Garcia <noagarcia@ids.osaka-u.ac.jp> )

Been working Big Bang theory HITs for requester this past week. Got the qual by writing requester directly. If you grind, you'll make $5 or less an hour on the 10 cent batch. [The "Wrong Answer" batch takes 1-3 minutes each HIT, writing 3 "wrong" answers, + a difficulty rating, for 10 cents. The other 40 cent HIT question creation batch - they had enough qualled workers.]

Yuta Nakashima approved first the 300 HITs, usually within a few hours, even on weekends.

Now... 3 days of 400+ HITs are sitting there pending. I've kept the percentage under 99% for Mturk approval for my stats. Requester Yuta Nakashima just posted a new batch within an hour of this posting though, so they are active.

I wrote them this morning, asking when they will approve. When a requester post new batches, with days of unpaid work sitting, that is a red flag, and a different pattern. They haven't committed to any AA (auto approval time), so right now it's just open ended.

They have not responded to my email (just sent it a few hours ago though), but they did just approve 1 HIT, I worked today. First approval in 3 days. The rest are sitting there.

It's always a trust process, with requesters. My specific question - Are you working with requester Yuta Nakashima, and how did their approvals go for you? Thank you.

I am not working with this requester, but I can think of a couple of things going on. This weekend is a holiday/long weekend in Japan (Foundation Day). If Yuta is working with a large university they could be off for a few days. If he is working in a university lab, there could be multiple people (i.e. graduate students) posting HITs on his account.

That is useful feedback about the holiday. If a requester can post a new batch now, then they can pay for the old batch too. Different departments sure, yet... the pattern change is noted. Plus sitting on 3 days of many hours of work. Yeah, I'm going to talk to other workers of this requester, see what their experience is directly. That specifically will be helpful.

I'm just thinking back to students that worked in my lab when I was at USM - they only had authority to do certain things. I could easily see a grad student getting authority to post HITs but not approve them. That doesn't excuse being sloppy about approvals or indicate that it's a good way to run your research, but if this is a serious researcher, I doubt there is any malicious intent.

I have not, I also don't get the beef, but I'm a little stupid, maybe that is why

"Malicious intent" would be your language, not my implication

- More of - this is a change, I'm concerned, I have over 10+ hours of work waiting in balance. Other workers of this requester, let's share our specific experience.

Beef is an interesting language you choose. 400 hits just sitting there 3 days, when they paid them quick before. Can't take on more until these get cleared, because it will start impacting my stats if they choose to reject. They have TO documenting some rejection.

Again, touching base with other workers with this specific requester. Your experience may help.
