Got some answers to the other questions I asked yesterday - about what one should expect. If I were to complain about how much corporate red tape sucks, I've never be able to do anything else.

I asked his what his views were on throttling, if its current form is here to stay, and if he personally thinks it even helps anything. I also mentioned how turkers use scripts that will begin refreshing the page for them once throttling kicks in, which is pretty much what he focused in on.

1) Throttling - That's a good question, and unfortunately the answer to this question would be proprietary. Scripts that are being used are all third party and not owned or managed by MTurk, hence there is nothing much I can talk about how that impacts throttling, but agree that it just increases the number of calls to the service.

So for this one, I asked if there were any plans to give workers more protection against unfair rejections and/or blocks. So this went about as I expected until the very last part - I may not have explained it properly to him, the whole "requester can ruin someone's account with blocks at the click of a button and with absolutely no repercussions" thing. That or he's going by the "the customer is always right" mantra. I would message back and explain to him that a requester is able to block no matter the reason, so the non-human means to submit HITs question just doesn't have much standing.. however, it probably wouldn't get me too far.
I also thought about if he thought I was talking about qual blocks, given this line: "In terms of blocks, Requesters review submitted assignments to determine the group of Workers for their HITs. If you meet the criteria, you'll be able to accept our next set of HITs again. This isn't owned by MTurk."

2) Here's a snippet from our participation agreement -

The Site is a venue for Requesters and Workers to conduct transactions. Unless we are participating on the Site as a Requester, we are not involved in the transactions, and have no control over the quality, safety, or legality of Tasks or consideration for Tasks, the ability of Workers to perform Tasks to Requesters' satisfaction, or the ability of Requesters to pay for Tasks. We are not responsible for the actions of any Requester or Worker, or performing any screening of Requesters or Workers. Your use of the Site is at your own risk. Because we are not a party to the transactions between Workers and Requesters, we are not responsible for resolving any disputes between participants related to any Tasks or any transaction.

My recommendation is to report incidents of mass rejection to our support team for us to investigate and take appropriate action.

In terms of blocks, Requesters review submitted assignments to determine the group of Workers for their HITs. If you meet the criteria, you'll be able to accept our next set of HITs again. This isn't owned by MTurk.

Question - What is the worry of getting blocked by Requesters if you know you aren't using non-human means to submit HITs?

And lastly, I asked him for any tips on how to get Masters as a joke. I also happened to mention that we generally view the process akin to drawing names out of a hat.

3) For Masters, unfortunately I cannot the criteria that we use however can tell you that it isn't anything similar to drawing names out of a hat. It's a good feedback and I will take this to our team here. In terms of tips on how to get the qualification, the best thing you can do us continue to submit good quality work.

My lunches I took to high school were excellent. I kept the lettuce for the sandwich separate so it stayed moist while the bread stayed dry ( @C to the J).

I managed to miss *every single* decent batch today (even aside from the obvious morning bias), so about $15. I haven't experienced the post-holiday recovery yet, but it's good to see some people getting in on it.
