For the 'tripadvisor machine learning 'find the best photo hits', I emailed to ask about reviews mentioning rejections.
Here's his answer because he said I could pass along, so why not.
Haven't done enough to recommend, only a penny but seems mindless enough.

Hi Amy,
Our last project had sanity tests to prove whether someone was a bot or not taking the task seriously. For example, we'd show two identical pictures and ask the person to say which is better or no preference. For those that said that one was better (remember, they're identical!) we rejected. When some users complained, we looked at their work as a whole and, in most cases, approved all their work retroactively.
In this project, there is no sanity test. We're trusting workers to do the best they can!

so they give you their paid qual for req to use to filter only workers who can speak it.
