Day three, doing well, feel pretty good.

Last night was interesting. I ate at 12:30pm, a snack, then at 6pm I got home and was ravenous so I made nachoes...then wasn't hungry the rest of the night, but I threw down two scrambled eggs for protein. Huh.

wow, i definitely couldn't function on a week long fast, good on ya. glad you're feeling better!
Thank you very much, I appreciate it! I've been dealing with what I believe is an ulcer for about a year and a half now, and I've only recently had the common sense to try and make an effort of letting it heal.. So the hunger pangs that spur on sometimes in the first two days were more welcome than the fiery feeling of an upset ulcer. Especially recommend to those who have gastrointestinal issues, your gut's microbiome will reset and allow you to put good bacteria into it for recovery and balance.

Are we sure IF wasn’t designed by hungover people? Lol. Don’t eat for a while and drink a ton of water...

Hey guys,

I didn't find another suitable place to ask this question so I'm just going to put it here. As I mentioned before, I'm basically just a divine prophet of CICO, eating at a constant calorie deficit. I have a terrible habit of eating after midnight. I'm curious if I should add the calories from that snacking towards the previous day, or to the new day? I'm weighing in at 211 currently, and I've been there for about a month now. My goal is to hit the 180s, but I'm pretty sure I've bottomed out due to the aforementioned snacking. I assume that's what's causing me to maintain, but I'd just like to know what day I should be recording the food to in my tracker (does that make sense?). I've lost over 100 lbs in under a year and I'd like to think I'm going to find the momentum to lose the last 31 sometime soon.

Are you logging in all calories you eat, or just in general? Because you said you think it's the after-midnight snacking, and if it is it should be reflected in your total daily calorie totals, so that you don't trick yourself about how much you're eating.

When I was counting calories, I'd log everything after midnight as being the new day just to make things easier for me. It also gives you a big realization of how much smaller your meals will be later in the day if you eat a ton late at night.

Are you logging in all calories you eat, or just in general? Because you said you think it's the after-midnight snacking, and if it is it should be reflected in your total daily calorie totals, so that you don't trick yourself about how much you're eating.

I count every last bit. If something is say, 630 calories, I just bump it up to 700. Makes me less likely to go over the limit. It's just that some articles mention that eating right before sleeping will just make all the food go to fat (or something like that) so it's really counterproductive to do that. But at the same time, I just want to make sure that I'm logging it on the correct day. I always put it on the previous day just because I hadn't slept yet, if that makes sense.

If you truly follow CICO, what time you eat doesn't matter. There is a lot of stuff that says overall, time doesn't matter just CICO. If you use an app like myfitness pal, it'll automatically do it for you on the next day at midnight.

ooooh I've derailed again. Well kinda. We went out of town for the weekend and my man has to eat breakfast, and we had delicious breakfast. And of course I snacked all day and drank a good bit Saturday.

I had breakfast Monday because I was getting used to it again.

Today I managed to wait until 12. So some semblance of control rolling in. I just need to get out of this snack attack state of mind, and this weekend I must ABSOLUTELY meal prep a couple things so I am not eating out and eating everything in sight.

For the record, I kind of use CICO, but with the IF it helps me limit the amount of time I can eat, so I am not miserable eating 300 calorie meals four times a day. I feel so much better if I can throw down 600 calories at a time, twice a day, essentially. Eating multiple small meals a day really stressed me out.

I started doing this after seeing this thread. I think I have been at it about a week now. Weird heads up for women, but apparently IF can impact your menstrual cycle. Some women report theirs disappearing entirely or being super irregular.

I started doing this after seeing this thread. I think I have been at it about a week now. Weird heads up for women, but apparently IF can impact your menstrual cycle. Some women report theirs disappearing entirely or being super irregular.
Depends on how fucked your cycle is to start too.
A lot of the other PCOS ladies I talk to in groups that do keto and IF get their cycles back and back on track.

That's interesting. The keto diet helps to get their cycles regular again? I have not put myself on a specific diet doing IF so just wondering if it'd help. My cycle lined up with my first week of IF and has been pretty irregular compared to the norm.

B/c PCOS really messes up, and is messed up by insulin levels, (even if you're not yet diabetic range...) lower carb, and very low carb diets keep things in check, reduce cysts, and help regulate things.

Ahhh, I see. That makes sense then. I'll have to look into it more :) Low carb part is going to be tough though... I love rice too much lol.

Yeah it really depends. It has never caused irregularity for me, but I am on the pill and already run like a clock because of it.

Blah. Lack of progress. Weight Watchers is doing 50% off deal so a coworker and I started that this week. I'm still doing IF, and concentrating eating during my window. I still prefer eating a ton of food a few times a day versus a little bit of food all day. We will see what progress I get in 2 or so weeks.
