Hello, fellow turkeys!

I've been turking for about 7-8 months now, I've been getting better as the months come, or should I say I've been getting luckier with better-paying HITs?

As of right now, my numbers are:

Approved HITs
2,775
Rejected HITs
6
Total Earnings $2,948.26

I think my numbers are fine, when I grind hard, I can make $150-$180 a week; I would say 99.99% of my HITs are surveys or similar tasks.

With that being said, I can be 12-16 hours every day in front of my computer, I have nothing else to do, and I think I can do a lot better with my time, I just don't know what else to do. If I could make $200 or more a week that would be great, even a consistent $180 would do, however- there are weeks I fall short and topple $150, and that is not good enough.

I read about getting QUALS, I just don't know where people find those? I hate penny batches, I am in no rush to inflate my numbers, however, I am willing to work hard as long as it makes sense.

I use HIT Forker, HIT Finder, HIT Notifier and Panda Crazy.

Many thanks if you are still reading, I did not intend such a long post. I'm sorry if I sound like an entitled prick, maybe I don't know how to grind my time well.

I appreciate any criticism, suggestions, ideas

You are averaging more than $1 per hit. My sense is that that is fairly high. I think you will reap the most rewards from thinking about how to earn more money from lower paying hits. There are many ways to get better at this. If you like surveys, one way is to focus on learning how to quickly distinguish the junk "work for free" surveys from the viable 10-50 cent surveys. (There is no one secret to this.)

Another thing I'd suggest is trying to get to 5000 hits, since that will unlock at least some additional hits.

Another more general idea is to build into your mturk strategy the idea that you need to be continually thinking about how to get better at mturk, and revising your strategies. For some people (like me), it is easy to focus too much on this, and it gets in the way of actually doing the work. But it is also easy to get into a rut of just grinding away, when you could actually be thinking about how to do things more effectively.

The best way to find quals is a combination of searching for HITs up that have words like "qual", "qualification", "qualify", "test", "pretest", etc. and keeping an eye on the daily work thread here. If someone finds a qual HIT or knows about how to get a qual, they'll often post about it and you'll see it so watch over there.
