I'm not understanding how to pronounce 中

to clarify: I am not understanding why ちゅう sounds like 'tanaka' instead of 'chuu'


and google translate says it sounds like naka, and when you click the sound, it says chuu

中 is 'inside' or 'within' in chinese (sounds like zhong), and なか means 'in' in japanese and なか is pronounced naka

still not understanding where chuu comes from though.. ちゅう means middle, so I guess it's a stretch to say middle means 'in'....

That's why towering things are scary. If there were no chance that tall stuff could topple and kill you in the blink of an eye, big would just be..."meh, that thing is larger than that other thing but, I don't see your point."
