Did myself a huge favor and changed my desktop theme from self-curated generic landscapes that I picked at random to self-curated HD landscapes that will blow your mind...that I picked half at random. Found the pictures, cropped to fit my odd 16:10 monitor best, and put 7-8 of them in a shuffled looping rotation. So where before I had nice though eventually bland-ish backgrounds, I now have the Mesa Arch in Utah. I have the Kirkjufell Aurora. I have ULURU. Fucking ULURU. It's kind of crazy how much a simple upgrade in something you don't see *that* often can have on your overall quality of life.

Interesting. I tend to go for more abstract backgrounds that I find chromatically or geometrically pleasing in some way. I've dabbled with some super high quality black and white scenic nature shots, but it wasn't too long before I was back to abstractland.

That said, I'm also not generally prone to changing my background much...I've got to consciously force myself to conjure up some reason to change it or want to change it, which gives me an excuse to waste lots of time scouring image searches for the perfect image.

I've done that before. I think I'm just drawn to the kinds of landscapes that I can't get to immediately every day, at this point. Being able to randomly surprise myself with Uluru, or Monument Valley, or Tres Cimes is a really, really nice boost to my attitude.

I am legitimately saving up to afford a month off in October when Red Dead Redemption 2 drops.
yep, it's all about the priorities. I hammered like hell for the last couple weeks so I can make sure I got my thousand for the month to put in the education funds. I might work a couple hours here and there until I beat the game, but probably not
