Hello, I am interesting in setting up a request in which workers will go to a single webpage - in this case, listings of university faculty within departments - and create from it a csv with fields for first name, last name, and email address. Does anyone have suggestions on the best format for doing this?

I've done several requests before, so I am familiar with the mTurk interface, but I am not sure how to set up a job in which the output is data for an unknown number of entries (ie. I don't know how many individual profiles there will be on a page). Any suggestions are appreciated.

I plan to pay approximately five dollars per completed page (not per email address), so I hope it will be an interesting job.

P @Peter Loewen , have you tried reaching out via the Requester Help section (when you're logged into your requester account)? The large majority of posters here are turkers and would not know about setting jobs up.

I don't know if this works or not, but why not just have a text box on the mturk hit page itself that should contain the desired csv. You can have the instructions, and a link to the department page, and a single text box, along with a submit button.

The problem would be workers who try to complete the hit and can't follow instructions, and they might complain, but I suspect the work would get done to your satisfaction. I don't know for sure, but I suspect you would get more than a few complaints, but also some fairly quick submissions of the desired work.

I've done similar data entry hits where the end product is a .csv file. I think there are a few options that you could use.

The easiest thing to do would be to include the link to the google docs (or sheets?) file with the spreadsheet in it. It will probably help workers if the fields are already set up and also include an example.

I've submitted these hits in two different ways. One was by attaching the completed .csv file directly into the hit window. The other way used the google spreadsheet above so the data was automatically saved. When I completed the project, there was simply a box to input the number of total entries.

As for the pay, I'm not entirely sure the best method of setting that up. You could always set up the hit with a base pay and offer a bonus for additional entries or pages.
