I don't think you're familiar with EA's revenue streams and how much they pull in from even ultimate team modes alone. Boycotters would be a drop in the bucket..but I'll leave this alone as I'm working atm.

A better reason to use as to why gamers can't effectively shut down gaming corporations has nothing to do with their finance and everything to do with the fact that gamers don't *want* to. Boycotting involves taking a moral stand to not engage in activities that breaks one's principals of self for someone else - that's not how far gamers are willing to go, on average. If they did this, EA wouldn't have a paycheck in the first place.
But this is what (forgot her name) was talking about. Gamers don't take complaining about companies seriously - they just hashtag stuff and don't commit. Most of what they say is just embarassing themselves for views.
