Hi Everyone!
Bude57 here and didn't want to post anything until I was sure that Turking was something I could and wanted to do. Well I'm on my 8th day and just completed my 100th HIT. I know it isn't a heck of a lot. But, I didn't do but 10 a day to start. Then I read the marvelous "Your first 1000 hits" forum post and found it excellant and very informative. Also read a few more forum articles here with some great insight on how to do this.
I've also been mighty lucky for my first 100, as I haven't had 1 rejection yet. (I'm sure I'll do some belly-aching once I do), but right now, things are good. I will pretty much try to pick up my pace (though cautiously), because I really wanted to find a work-from-home job.
I'd suffered a stroke back in March 2016, lost my job, then had to have a major surgery on my neck. I collected unemployment for 6 months not knowing it would run out (I'm in Northern Ohio). I'm now 60 years old and can't do a lot of what I used to. Plus I hate the snow and don't want to go out into it...lol.
I knew there had to be a way to make money in a work-from-home way, and after a month searching...I stumbled on MTurk. I was skeptical at first...as I'm sure you all were. But after hitting this Forum and seeing the wonderful people here....I knew I stumbled across a good thing.
I've only made about $40.00 in my first few days here....and I really hope to make enough so I can survive (rent, bills...etc). But, I know that after 1000 accepted hits that things may get better.
If I've learned one thing on this quest for 1000 hits, it's that my life seems to be better, "I'm working"! It gets me up eager at the start of the day, I grab a coffee, look out at that snow....shake my head...and go right to work. (doing surveys mostly...gotta pay some bill or two.) But my self-worth is feeling much better.
That's pretty much it. I have no questions at the moment....just wanted to thank everyone that runs and belongs to this forum. Your very existence gives an older gentleman pride in what he is now doing.
I just hope it all pays off! For everyone!
Thanks for reading....and God Bless

Keep rolling! There are literally dozens and hundreds of tips and insights that will help you increase your mturk skills and pay. Getting to 1000 definitely unlocks many more hits, but there is no single secret to mturk. Pay attention to everything and you will get better.

Thanks for the welcome! I got lucky today and found 1 HIT that only paid .02 a job, but they were ridiciulously easy and I did 75 HITS through them in less than 5 hours. I just hit my 200th HIT, 111 approved. Not much money made today....but got a nice day on the HITS. Good luck darlin'. And you did just over $200? That's an average of $2.50 a job! Not too shabby. Today is my 10th day and I guess that's when the more job thing happens.....I sure do hope so. I only have enough money for 1 more month's rent. I really really hope this is a good decision!!! I really want to work from home.

Thanks! I got lucky today and didn't make much money, but found a HIT that gave me a ton of easy, easy data entry jobs. I hit 200 HITS today...111 approved and still luckily I'm at 100% on my approval rate....(see me dancin?). 11 hours work and made $9.00. What am I gonna do with all this cash???

Not bad`....Just finished my 400th hit, but only made $100.00 thus far ...got a little bit off a system, but the good paying things aren't showing up too fast (then again it's holiday season, so I figure a lot of people that post jobs are on vacation) I've been sticking to one that only pays .02 a hit, but they're simple data entry, at least I'm working my way to 1000. 22 days in thus far, some days work harder than others, but things come up. At least I can get my electric and internet paid this month....so that's helpful. Got another interview for a real work-from-home job next week, so I'm hoping to keep doing both. I've seen a lot of posters for jobs do want people that have 1000 hits. So, I'll just keep pluggin away with decent payers, quick data hits, and of course the Quals!!! Rock on!

Thanks chatterbox! I just went over 500 hits, cashed out enough to pay my electric and internet bill...so I was very happy with that. Thanks for welcoming me aboard!!!

Hey! Just wanted to stop by and say hello...Just got my 600th hit. A couple new hits have opened up...and gladly I'm still at 100% in the Approval rating. What I've noticed is that I've been getting some really good bonuses. Just got one for $4.00 today. I've cashed out once without a hitch (though it does take a few days), but at least I got to know that they are legitimate, they do pay, and I got enough to pay my internet and electric bill!!! Gonna definate continue...jobs came slow during the holidays, but it seems to be picking back up! Still on the road to 1000 hits. I guess this wasn't a quick hello afterall....Have a Great day!

Guess there's plenty of newbies out here to keep me company. Great stuff so far.
